Hi, I'm Jerry.
I'm starting a blog of sorts to help interact and touch base with everyone. I can be really busy at times which causes me to post less and that makes me look a little introverted. I also tend to feel awkward when I throw myself out there. I second guess myself and worry what other people might think. Its like my brain is still in high school mode and it forces me in this weird bubble.
Anyway, since it was my own personal new year (birthday) not too long ago, I've decided to make a few resolutions. I know it's a bit late, but I think it's about time to throw myself out there and pop that bubble. This blog is the first step.
Another reason for this blog is to up my social media game. I'm pretty horrible at it, but like I said, it's time to break out of this shell. Facebook is, or was, my prime social media hub since I started doing art for a living. I've got about 56k people who like my page, but can never see what I do. If I'm lucky, only about 1k people will see it. Part of that is my fault, because I don't post constantly but most of it is Facebook throttling my reach down to get me to pay for ads. It's even worse when I'm trying to sell something.
My point isn't to bitch about Facebook, but to say that
Deviantart is going to be my main hub now. I'm going to still post everywhere else (Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, etc..etc) but I'm going to put more focus on DA from now on. I've always enjoyed the community and have been browsing for 8 years. I might as well start interacting. I will be posting t-shirt sales, sketches, works in progress, and finished stuff. I will be blogging some more and doing contests too.
But...If DA isn't your thing and you still want to keep up with my stuff, you can follow me everywhere else too.
